RIMMER

I understand that there were some RIMMERs in Iowa [Lawrence?? or others???]. I am searching for a birth family for a Mary Parthena RIMMER, b. 1868-1870. This family made their way thru Oregon County, Missouri to parts unknown. On the way, the mother died [illness/childbirth??].

The small girl was adopted out to a local family and is found in that county's 1880 Census in the home of the adopted family [COUCH] as a 10 yr old girl. She had older brothers! Also possible that the RIMMERs were somehow connected to this COUCH family [Benjamin COUCH and wife Amanda "Manda" COLE]

All the census state that she was born in Illinois, but Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and North Carolina census and marriages have been checked.. coming up empty!

Shot in the dark: Is this Mary found in the 1870 Iowa Census? Did any of the Iowa RIMMERS leave for Arkansas, Missouri, or other southern states. Does anyone know anything about this story?

This little girl was my ggrandmother.. Thanks for reading this novel....Any help is appreciated!! Please email me at:
