I have found a photo of Company C stationed at Camp Dodge, Iowa during World War I. On the back is written all the names of the men and also: "This is the picture of the "best" organization in Camp Dodge. This bunch went to Des Moines on the train then hiked back (17 miles) in their shirt sleeves on one of the coldest days this winter. Not one man felt the least effect from it. No company here has a record like it." signed by Robert B. Franklin. It is dated 1 March 1918. The picture was owned by Tom Bell who is in the photo.
Tom Bell lived near my parents in Kittson Co., MN and I do not know if there are any relatives living. He was never married. What would you suggest I do with the photo? I can scan the photo for anyone. Some of the names are: Johnston, Comstock, French, Burgh, Rector, Sinclaire, Ashton, Dellehunt, Carlson, Swan, Olson, Kohle, Keller, Meyers, Greenburg, Carey, Lehman, Leevers, Sherwood, Cooper, Menzies, Penny, Beck, etc.
Maybe there is someone out there who has a Grandfather who was in company C. Any suggestions?? Marcy Johnson
