Hi,

I'm not related but you have presented an intriguing & difficult task as you have about 5-6 generations of descendency to try to hope that a descendent would be interested and knowledgeable enough to know that their ancestors were from Iowa and to find a query on IAGenweb which may not be so well known as some of the commercial sites. You might wish to try a search on the new Beta site of Familysearch.org. Another worthwhile site is the Rootsweb.com. It will take some work to list prospective descendents and where they may be. A major problem is that many Iowans immigrated West or North and I think it is reasonable to assume that many of the descendents moved on to places like WA, OR, CA or just a little West to NE or KS. Some may be in Chicago which was quite a magnet for Iowans.

There is much work that could solve your problem that may be done in a nearby public library.
