SCHAU, ELIASSEN

I am searching for information about my great grandfather CHRISTIAN SCHAU who was naturalized in Iowa in 1888. He died soon after that, maybe in Iowa or Illinois. He was married to Anne Marie Eliassen in Denmark, and they came to Wisconsin, then IL, then IA, and possibly IL again. After he died Anne Marie married his brother John in IL. There seem to be many spellings of SCHAU, and on the naturalization papers it is spelled SKOW, in Denmark I find it SKAU. The Iowa Immigration Museum tells me that they are all pronounced the same, like shaw.
