Dick: Thank you very much! This is the correct T.W. Childs, he WAS a carpenter in Pennsylvania before he went out west. The children are WW for Willie Wirt, CF for Charles Fremont and J. for Elizabeth Julia. It appears tht Charles Fremont was born in Illinos ?, that Elizabeth Julia "Libby" was age 2.We knew and the 1880 Census has her birth place as Iowa. Family stories said that she was 10 months old when he moved the family back to Fairview, Pennsylvania, we don't know exactly when they left Iowa. Was he really an Indian Agent or did he go west to work.
I am still interested in learning more about them in Iowa. Thank you.
