No records of their leaving Taylor County at the courthouse.

I'm surprised at this spelling, I had a coworker with the last name spelled Hough, and it was pronounced with the first part sounding Hoy, and a hard g ending.

Search of Montana's death index didn't show them dying in Yellowstone County.
