Charles Westfall

I am trying to find an obituary and/or locate the the location of the death of Charles/Carl Westfall. He was born in Mecklenberg, Germany, ca 1823 and emigrated to the Rochester, NY area. He married Christena Roth/Rath there in 1857. They came to Iowa in the early to mid 1860's and lived in Johnson County and Pottawattamie County. I have found his gravestone. His death date there says 12 Jan 1897 and he is buried with his wife in Walnut, IA.
I have not been able to obtain a death certificate or obituary. I am hoping a document like this may give me some information about him?
