Funeral Services Held Tuesday, For Robert Hicks
Sunday August 17
Burial in Dexter Cemetery
Funeral Services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, August 5, for Robert M. Hicks who passed away August 3 at Clarinda where he had been a patient in the State Hospital.
Rev. Ernest Smith of Stuart was in charge of the last rites. There was recorded organ music. Relatives served as casket bearers. The Evans Funeral Home arranged the services and took care of the floral offerings. The burial was in Dexter Cemetery.
Robert Mitchell Hicks was born August 10, 1878 at Monticello, Iowa and passed away August 3, 1958. He was married to Kathryn Bartmess/Hicks who now survives him at her Des Moines, Iowa home. Two children, a daughter, Mrs. Edna Shoenberg of Rockford, Illinois and a son Woodrow Hicks of Seattle, Washington blessed this union. There are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters and one brother. His twin brother preceded him in death in 1905. Mr. Hicks lived on his father's farm south of Dexter several years before moving to Maynard.
