Lucinda Steele married Benjamin Carpenter, also of IA. Had son William Holliday Carpenter born Paxton, Omaha, or Lincoln NE per different family stories. Wm had brothers, names unknown. Benjamin served in (died in?) Civil War, state entered from unknown. William Holliday ended up in Shasta County CA after "cowboying," places unknown; married Louisa Watson in Kerr County Tx ca 1884. Will research any Steeles suggested to me. Thanks
