C. Keith Hood, 66, of Diagonal, died July 17, 1995 at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. Funeral services will be July 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston. The Rev. Lucretia Parks and the Rev. Peter Brantner will officiate the service. Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Cromwell with military rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1797. Family visitation will be Wednesday, 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 9, 1929 in Creston to Frank and Margradell (Baker) Hood. He married Doris Moore in Creston on July 1, 1955. He was a meter repairman for the Iowa Southern Utilities for 35 years. He had lived most of his life in Creston and was a member of the former Union County Sheriff’s Posse. He was an adult leader for Troop 129 BSA, and a former member of the Creston Elks Lodge and the V.F.W. He had served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving relatives include his wife; his mother; one son, Gail Hood and wife Jan of Winterset; one brother, Bill Hood and wife Diane of Bayard; three sisters, Mary Lou Fibiker and husband Don of Callender, Karen Gonseth and husband Larry of Murray, and Sharon Sheesley and husband Bill of Murray; and one grandson, Phillip Hood of Winterset.

A memorial has been established in his name.
