Rudy Gail Kilgore, the son of Max Stanley and Margaret (Bradshaw) Kilgore, was born on January 14, 1958, at Creston, Iowa. Rudy entered eternal rest on August 23, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of fifty-one years, seven months, and nine days.

Rudy graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1977 and attended Southwestern Community College. He married Valerie Davis in 1977 and they later divorced. Rudy married Linda Strickland on September 21, 1991, in Creston.

Rudy grew up in Creston and helped his father, by working at Kilgore's. Rudy also worked for Casey's, as a manager, in Creston. In 1977, Rudy moved to Villisca and managed the Casey's Store until returning to Creston the fall of 1980. Rudy took over the Kilgore's business in 1981. In 1997, Rudy and Linda began the car rental side of their business. Rudy and Linda began selling RV's in 2006.

Rudy was Co-Founder of the Iowa Independent Auto Dealers Association in 1994; earned the Iowa Quality Dealer Award two times in 1995 and 2003; won the National Auto Dealers Association Dealer of the Year Award for Iowa in 2002. He was a member of Crestmoor Golf Club; a member of IIADA and NADA; and a member of the Salem Lutheran Church. Rudy was a big supporter of the Dream Factory and was Co-Founder of the Iowa Chapter.

Rudy's hobbies revolved around his grandkids. He loved to camp and to travel. His grandchildren were the joys of his life.

Left to cherish Rudy's memory are is wife, Linda Kilgore, Creston; his son, Dusty Kilgore, Creston; the mother of his grandchildren, Joni Morris, Creston; his two grandchildren: Max and Morgan Kilgore, Creston; his sister, Kaye Carson, Slater; his brother, Randal Kilgore, Creston; his father-in-law and his mother-in-law: Lee and LaVern Stickland, Stanton; his brother-in-law: Lyle (Julie) Strickland, Stanton; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceding Rudy in death were his Parents; Brother-in-Law, Ron Carson; Infant Son, Rudy Ervin Kilgore, in 1981; and an infant sister, Shirley Kilgore.
