Cortney Lynam, Lorimor

Cortney Lynam, 38, of Lorimor died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at his home in Lorimor.

Celebration of Life services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, July 6) at Powers Funeral Home in Creston, with Pastor Mary O’Riley officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Cortney Darwin Lynam was born on Aug. 19, 1977, in Polk County, Iowa, a son to Diana Lee (Cleland) Lynam and Darwin Eugene Lynam. He graduated from East Union High School with the class of 1996. Cortney had a son, Kristian Lynam on May 8, 2000, and later moved to Arizona until he returned to Iowa in 2008. Cortney held various jobs. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lorimor.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Darwin Lynam; and his grandmother, Velma Price.

He is survived by his son, Kristian Lynam of Murray; mother, Diana Lynam of Lorimor; his twin sister, Carey Lynam (Craig Hoffman) of Creston; two brothers, Lance Lynam of Des Moines and Richie Cleland of Creston; grandpa, Ivan Price of Springfield, Mo.; several other family members and friends.
