Adkisson, Joshua -
Joshua "Josh" Adkisson, 18, of Diagonal, formerly of Creston,
died April 18, 2003 at his home.
Services were held at 1:30 PM in the Diagonal High School
Gymnasium. The Rev. Jim Morris officiated. Music selections
were: "18 and Life", "Stairway to Heaven", "May Angels Lead
You In", "Free Bird". Casket bearers were: Daniel Snyder, Will
Shutt, Rusty Simpson, Enoch Wilson, Rob Kibbe, Tone Stevens,
Ryan Pierce, Jeremy Seddon, Steve Turner, Adam Auten and Bob
Hansen. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his name.
Josh Adkisson, son on Gordon L. Adkisson and Kathy L.
Carlisle, was born Feb. 25, 198S, in Creston. He attended schools
in Diagonal, Mt. Ayr and Creston.
Survivors include his father, Gordon Adkisson, of Diagonal; his
mother, Kathy Carlisle (friend Tom Harris) of Pleasant Hill; two
sisters, Jennifer Adkisson of Iowa City and Meghan Adkisson
Greenfield; and grandparents, Geneva Adkisson of Pella and Cliff
and Barbara Carlisle of Shannon City.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Laverne Adkisson
and great-grandmother, Helen Burns.
