Sandeman, Grace Spencer -
Grace Sandeman, 91, Clearfield, IA., died on March 5, 2003 at the Clearview Home in Clearfield. Services were held Saturday,
March 8, 2003 at 11:30 A.M. at Coen-Beaty in Creston, IA.
Conducting the service was Pastor Clark Finehout of the United Methodist Church. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Visitation was from 11:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Memorials can be made to Graceland
Cemetery. Coen-Beaty-Pearson was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Grace was born June 12, 1911 in Lorimor, IA, to Carl Spencer and Hattie Higgins. Grace graduated from the Creston high school.
She married Galen Steven Sandeman in 1931 in Creston.
Grace and Galen owned and operated Creston Frozen Food Locker in the state of Iowa and they also owned and operated Sandy's in 1963. Grace has lived in Clearfield since June of 1999.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: children-Son, Spencer (Gwen) Sandeman of Creston; sister-in-law, Alberta Sandeman of Creston. She has 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: parents; husband in 1964; son, Steve Sandeman; daughter, who was killed during WWII and Harry Spencer; a sister wh o died in infancy.
