Funeral services for Roy Sychra, 78, of Lenox, formerly of Orient, were held Friday, May 31, at Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service of Creston with Rev. Clark Findhout officiating.
Roy passed away on Monday, May 27, 2002 at the Lenox Care Center. Interment was at Bohemian National Cemetery.
Memorials are established in his name.
Roy Sychra was born on September 5, 1923 to Lewis J. Sychra and Josephine Novy. He graduated from Richland High School. On April 14, 1945 Roy was united in marriage to Anna LaVerne Beaman at the Greenfield Methodist Church. Roy was employed by the Adair County Assessor's office.
Survivors include his wife, LaVerne Sychra; children Patricia (husband David) Stream of Lenox, and Judy (husband Chris)Bailey of Cedar Falls; sons Robert (wife Marcia) Sychra of Washington, Ill., and Donald, (wife Debbie) Sychra of McDonough, Ga.; sister: Bessie Raasch of Urbandale: a sister-in-law, Delores Sychra of Johnston, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a twin brother who died at birth; a brother, Ed Sychra; and a brother-in-law, Norvin Raash.
