Funeral services for Bernard Moore, age 80, of Creston were held March 27 at Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service with Rev. Bharat Surender of the Cromwell Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Military rites were by American Legion Theodore J. Martins Post 1797.
Bernard passed away on March 24, 2002, after a battle against cancer. Interment was at Maple Gill Cemetery, Cromwell.
Memorials in his name can be made to Green Valley Hospice or Cromwell Congregational United Church of Christ.
He was born Nov. 17, 1921 in Adams County, Prescott Township, to Ivan H. Moore and Claudine May Copeland Moore.
He graduated from Cromwell High School in 1941. He married Wanda Eschle on Feb. 11, 1945, in Creston. He served in the U.S. Army 1946-1947.
Bernard was a farm service delivery man for Franklin Standard-Amoco station. He retired in 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Eschle Moore of Creston; his mother, Claudine Moore of Creston; daughter Sandra (husband Les) Carlson of Creston; sisters Doris Hood (husband Dale) of Diagonal and Lavetta (husband Arnold) Burkhalter of Creston; 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan H. Moore, in 1974.
