JERRY K. TREVILLYAN, WINTERSET

Jerry K. Trevillyan, 77, of Winterset died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Winterset Care Center North.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 1, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. Visitation will be held from 2–8 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, at the funeral home, where the family will be present to receive friends from 6–8 p.m. Burial will be in the Lorimor Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Calvary Baptist Church of St. Charles. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.ochiltree.com.

Jerry was born March 14, 1933, in Valley Junction, West Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Richard E. and Bertha Mary (nee: Reel). He grew up in Union County, Iowa, graduating from Lorimor High School in 1950. His marriage to Nadine Davis took place on Sept. 9, 1951, at the Grandview Park Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jerry worked at various grocery stores in Winterset and Des Moines in the produce and bakery departments, as well as worked a short time at the Phillips 66 Station pumping gas in Winterset. He later began his career as sanitarian and zoning administrator for Madison County and Board of Health, retiring in 1998. He attended the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles and was a former member of the Grace Baptist Church in Winterset. Jerry enjoyed gardening (both flowers and vegetables), photography, camping, and cake decorating.

Jerry is survived by his three children — Lonnie Peacock (Dan) of Winterset, Steve Trevillyan (Susan) of Ames, and Michelle Van Gorp (Verlan) of Des Moines; three brothers — Richard, Raymond, and Delbert; a sister, Phyllis Williams; seven grandchildren — Jennifer Neifer (Michael), Jared Peacock (Jill), Johanna Peacock, Emily Malven (Christopher), Brent Trevillyan, David Trevillyan, and Ashley Van Gorp; and six great-grandchildren — Benjamin, Christian, Logan “Jake,” Megan, Jason, and Jenna.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nadine, in 2008; and two brothers, Charles and John.
