Henderson, Susie May Fearnot -
Susie May Fearnot was born January 7, 1902 in Marco, Indiana and passed away on May 22, 1995 at the Murdock Manor in Lafayette, Indiana at the age of 93 years 4 months and 15 days. She lived her childhood in Greene County,Indiana and moved to Lenox, Iowa, in 1924. She returned to Indiana in May 1990.
She was united in marriage to Earl M. Henderson on January 26, 1928. Born to this union was one daughter, Veryla Lou and one son, Melvin Earl Henderson.
She was a member of the Marco United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary of Lenox, Ia. where she served as President in the 1940s and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Creston, Iowa. She was also an avid quilter.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Susie Geneva and a grandson, David Earl Crouch, both in Indiana, a great grandson, a sister, Pansy Smith of Lafayette, Indiana, a brother Charles "Doney" Fearnot of Erie, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1966, a daughter Veryla Lou, a son Melvin Earl, two sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services were held May 27, 1995 at the Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Indiana, with the Reverend Paul Wiggins officiating. Music was by organist Helen Hunter and singer Bob Martin.
Pallbearers were Ted Meadows, Charles Martindale, Glen Crowe, Richard Freeman, David Cross, and Ronald Smith. Honorary Pallbearers were James Smith and Wilbur Smith. Interment was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Memorials are to go to the American Legion Auxiliary, Parkinson Unit 250 in Lenox, Iowa.
