Funeral services for Lavida Mae Johnston were held at Keating-Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral Home in Creston April 30 officiated by Rev. Shirley Lockard. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery. She died April 27, 1990.
Lavida Mae Johnston was born May 16, 1911 in Creston, Iowa to Andrew A Fredricksen and Anne B. Soudek. She married August Delmar Johnston August 17, 1930. She lived most of her life in Taylor and Ringgold Counties until moving to Creston in 1976. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Platte Center Presbyterian Church, past president of Prairie Star Ladies Aid Society, Kent, past president and treasurer, Lenox Band Boosters.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Mary Ann Richardson (Merwyn), Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren and two great
grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Helen Overholzer (Stanley), Diagonal, Iowa.
