Land, Amelia Strey -
Amelia Land, the daughter of Julius and Katherine Hucke Strey, was born in Creston, Iowa October 20, 1891. She died at the Lenox Care Center in Lenox, Iowa on Monday, November 22 at ninety-one years of age.
She was united in marriage with Ernest W. Land. He preceded her in death December 4, 1916.
Mrs. Land was a lifetime resident of Creston and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Survivors include a brother, Clarence Strey of Jackson, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews, including Ronald Wurster of Lenox.
Services were held Wednesday, November 24 at the Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home in Creston at 10:30 a.m. Reverend George Campbell of St. John's United Church of Christ officiated.
Music was furnished by Mrs Geraldine Heessel. Selections were "Gentle Shepherd" and "Amazing Grace".
Pall bearers were Paul Schroeder, Arthur Waltersdorf, Johnnie Land, Ralph Lauer, Burton Ceilings and Leroy Winkler.
Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery at Creston.
A memorial has been established to the Lenox Care Center.
