Clem, William C -
William C. Clem, 82, of Lenox, died at the Greater Community Hospital Friday, June 22nd, after a short illness.
Mr. Clem was born May 22, 1891 in Union County, the son of Charles Henry and Sylvia Crossley Clem. He was married to Louise Dahlberg at the home of her parents in Platte township Dec. 10, 1913.
Mr. Clem retired from farming from the Kent community in 1965 and moved to Lenox. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Lenox and the l.O.O.F. lodge.
He is survived by two sons, Earl Clem and wife Evelyn of Lenox and Don and his wife, Creola of Creston, one daughter, Mrs. Alta Jean McCofferty, and her husband Bob of Fort Collins, Colorado, three brothers, Ray Clem of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Everett Clem of Bradenton, Florida and Warren Clem of Harding, Ark., two sisters, Mrs. Edith Cline of Des Moines and Mrs. Elsie Collins of Creston, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death in April, 1972.
He was a faithful member of his church, a loving father and grandfather. He will be missed by his family, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the United Methodist Church in Lenox with Rev. Floyd Newbrough officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Norma Paymal.
Bearers were Bill Clem, Edwin Clem, John Larry, Rodney Willetts, Jerry Leninger and Clifford Huntington.
Burial was in Graceland cemetery at Creston, Iowa.
