Mrs. Horace E. Comfort, 66, Well Known Afton Farm Woman, Died Today

Mrs. Horace E. Comfort, 66, who has resided on the same farm four miles northwest of Afton since 1900, died there at 5 a.m. today following an illness for the past year. She moved to the farm following her marriage to Horace E. Comfort in November 1900 and has made her home there since that time.

Surviving are her husband, two sons, Jay of Grand River and Leigh of Sheridan, Wyo., a daughter Zeta Wilber of Afton and a brother, Thomas Gilgan of Creston. Funeral services will be held at the Afton Catholic Church tomorrow at 9 a.m. Burial will be in the cemetery there.

Mayme Gilgan Comfort was born Feb. 14, 1872 at Melrose. She was an active worker in the Catholic Church.
