Roberts, Grace Minnard -
Mrs Grace B Roberts, 91, of Stringtown, died at the Cochran nursing home at Creston Saturday. She had been ill for about three weeks.
Mrs Roberts had lived on a farm at Stringtown after her marriage in 1891 until 1908 when she moved to Creston. She lived there until about 2 to 3 years ago when she returned to Stringtown to be near her sister, Mrs Laura Smith.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Keating and Beemer funeral home in Creston. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.
Grace A Minnard was born at Jerseyvile, Ill., Sept 25, 1871. She was the daughter of Curtis A and Ruth A Minnard. She was married at Jerseyville May 20, 1891 to
C B Roberts. He preceded her in death Dec 2, 1925.
They moved to a farm at Stringtown where they lived until moving to Creston in 1908. Their home was at 516 New York avenue.
Mrs Roberts was a member of the Methodist church.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs Laura Smith of the Stringtown community.

Grace B Minnard, daughter of Curtis A and Ruth Adeline Minnard, was born Sept 25, 1871 at Jerseyville, Ill., and departed this life on Dec. 20, 1962, at the
age of 91 years, 3 months and 4 days.
On May 20, 1891, she was united in marriage to Charles B Roberts of New London, la. They lived in New London one year and in 1892, purchase d the farm home just east of Stringtown where they lived until 1908, at which time they moved to Creston.
When a young woman she joined the Methodist church at Wesley Chapel, later transferring her membership to the Methodist church in Creston, where for years she taught a Sunday School class. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Stringtown Community church and enjoyed attending the services and activities of the church as long as her health permitted.
In September, 1953, Mrs Roberts moved to a mobile home on the old home place near Stringtown, where she lived 3 years. Since that time she has been a resident of the Cochran Nursing Home in Creston.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Dec 2, 1925. She is survived by one sister, Mrs Laura Smith of Lenox, 3 nephews and 1 niece.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan 2, Rev Azel Smith officiating. Music was by Mrs Claud Hart, organist accompanist for Russell Henry who sang The Upper Gardens, and Beyond the Sunset. Casket bearers were Austin Brown, Harry Reese, Fred Shepherd, Fred Stillinger, Adle Speelman and Gene Brotherton. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.
