Mrs. Emma Corder, 85,
Former Resident of Creston, Dies

Mrs. Emma J. Corder, 85, former resident of Creston, died last night in Omaha at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Standeven, after being in failing health for some time. She lived in Creston from 1886 until 1917 when she moved to Omaha.

Emma Jane Howell was born at Woodhull, Ill., on Oct. 11, 1855 and in 1875 was married to Reuben Corder, spending the early part of her married life in Woodhull. the family moved to Creston in 1886 and after the death of her husband in 1904 she continued to live here until 1917

She was an active charger member of the Eastern Star and up to her death was the senior wothy member of Vesta chapter of Creston. she was also a charter member of the S.S.S. society.

Surviving are her daughter of Omaha; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister and a brother. A son, Le Roy, died in 1930.

Funeral services will be held in Omaha Thursday morning. Her ashes will be brought to Creston for burial in Graceland cemetery beside her husband and short services will be held at the grave at 2 p.m. Thursday in charge of the Rev. Moore Morgan
