HAROLD DEAN STALCUP, Lorimor

Services for Harold Dean Stalcup, 70, Lorimor, who died Dec. 1, 1987, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Saturday, Dec. 5, at the United Methodist Church at Lorimor with the Rev. Michael Smith of Lorimor officiating. Burial was at the Lorimor Cemetery.

Born in Union County Nov. 28, 1917, he was the son of Loren and Esther M. DeVore Stalcup. He attended schools at Lorimor and Zion and spent most of his lifetime as a farmer in the Lorimor area.

On June 30, 1937, he was married to Mary Boughton at Shenandoah. He served as a mayor of Lorimor and city councilman and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lorimor.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Moore of Winterset; sons, Robert of Bagdad, Ariz., and Donald of Oxnard, Calif.; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a step great-grandchild; sisters, Fern Thurman of Lorimor and Wanda Patrick of Charlotte Harbor, Fla.; a half-brother, Wesley Stalcup of Des Moines; a step-sister, Bernice Parker of Winterset; step-brothers, Tru Sheldon of Truro and Ernest Sheldon of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two sisters, a half-sister and six grandsons.
