MARY STALCUP, WINTERSET

Mary E. Stalcup, 90, of Winterset died June 9, 2007, at home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 16, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial was at Lorimor Cemetery.

Mary Stalcup was born Jan. 9, 1917, in Truro to Chester and Etta (Miller) Boughton and was a graduate of Lorimor High School. Her marriage to Harold Dean Stalcup took place June 30, 1937, and was broadcast on the radio in Shenandoah.

Throughout her life, Mary resided in Lorimor. In 1998, she moved to Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Gary Stalcup; two sisters, Naomi Craig and Elda Olson; two brothers, Elias Boughton and Loren “Hank” Boughton; and six grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Foreman of Winterset; two sons, Robert Stalcup of Kirkland, Ariz., and Donald Stalcup of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Leona Hurt of Ankeny and formerly of Murray; and nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
