Lorimor Journal, Sept 30, 1910. Vol. 25 No 43 page 5

Mrs. L.H. Converse died at her home near Lorimor Sept 26, 1910, at 2:20 pm. Two years ago she went to a hospital where she underwent three severe operations, from which she recovered, but while her vitality was low other complications set in which did not yield to medical treatment and from which she never recovered.

On June 27, 1910 her condition assumed a more serious aspect but she suffered patiently all the while. During the past four weeks she has been confined to her bed and her sufferings have been intense, but she bore it all so bravely--cheerfully—until the end when her soul passed peacefully into the Spirit World.

All that medical skill and loving hands could do was done for her but all to no avail. Death had set his icy seal upon her but “Time” could not unlock nor stay his hand.

Although a firm believer in and advocate of Christianity, Mrs. Converse never united with a church. Hers was an honorable, upright life, always inspiring her family to higher, better things. She took a great pride in the upbuilding of the home. She repeatedly expressed herself ready to meet the final summons.

“For tho’ from out our bound of Time and Place,
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face,
When I have crossed the bar.”

Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church by Rev. Booth after which the remains were laid to rest in the Lorimor Cemetery.

Luella Wines, the daughter of E.L. and Mary Wines, was born at Knoxville, Iowa, Nov 12, 1857 and departed this life Sept 26, 1910 at the age of 52 years, 10 months and 14 days.
