Hance, Charles -
Burial was here Tuesday for Charles Hance, 71, a farmer in the Sharpsburg and Creston vicinities since 1881 who died at his home north of Creston, Sunday. Services were held at the First Presbyterian church in Creston.

Charles Hance was born on March 26, 1880, near Versailles,Ind. He was the son of James and Nancy Jane Johnson Hance. He moved to the Sharpsburg community in 1881 with his parents and moved to farm north of Creston in 1923.

He was married at Sharpsburg, Dec. 25, 1902, to Luna Olive Winslow, who survives him. Also surviving are four sons, Lewis Marion Hance, Marvin Lester Hance, Elvin Delno Hance
and Reldon Ernest Hance; and a daughter Verna Lucille Blair, all of Creston; a brother, Dale Hance of Richland Neb., and a sister, Eva S. Filbert of Sharpsburg. One daughter, Lila Vanlora died in infancy.
