Phillip Stalcup, son of Wesley and Mary Stalcup, was born at Peru in Madison County, Iowa, October 16th, 1865 and died March 24, 1932, at the age of 66 years, five months and eight days.
He moved with his parents to Union county on a farm near Grand River, while a small boy.
He was married to Clara Sweet on Dec. 19, 1889. To this union four children were born. Loren O. and Mrs. Leatha Hammans of Lorimor; Mrs. Blanch Mowry of Mt. Ayr and Evelyn at home.
He leaves surviving, his wife, one son, three daughters, nine grand children, one twin brother Stephen, three other brothers and one sister, besides a host of relatives and friends.
He united with the Methodist church of Lorimor under Evangelist Jones in the year 1904.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the M.E. church in Lorimor, conducted by Rev. E.F. Thompson, and interment was made in the Lorimor Cemetery.
