The Passing Of Creston Woman Last Saturday

--------
Lora E. Lipsett, Superintendent of Schools quietly Passes Away

Miss Lora Lipsett, Union County Superintendent of Schools was called by death at six o'clock Saturday evening at the age of forty-four years. She had been ill for some time and had lately returned from a western trip which she took for the benefit of her health. The sad news of her death came as a shock to the people of Creston and vicinity, all of whom are her friends. She was held in the highest esteem by the rural teachers and was noted for the personal interest she took in their work. She had lived here practically all of her life but was born in Ohio.

The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 at the First Baptist church and were very largely attended. The Rev. O. D. Mc Clung preached the sermon and gave in detail the work done in this community by her.

Interment was made in the Graceland cemetery. the pall bearers, all friends were Laura Dixon, Eva Boyd, Winnie Kidd, Alma Baker, Helen Robison and Maude Carson. Miss Lipsett is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. P. Lipsett and one sister, Miss Mable Lipsett and a brother, Burton Lipsett, all of this city.

There are few women in Union county who will be more sadly missed than Miss Lipsett. Her work as county superintendent has brought her in touch with many people, old and young, and her many splendid qualities had endeared her to them. Thoroughly interested in her work and with a keen desire to do her full duty to the schools and the public she had won a high place in the esteem of the people of Creston and Union county.
