Wm. F. Walker was born in Hancock county, Ind., November 25, 1851 and came to Madison county, Iowa with his parents at the age of three years, where he resided until he was married to Julia C. Hartenbower on December 5, 1872. They made their home in Madison county one year, moving to Adair county in 1874 and from there to Union county in 1881. In 1902 they moved to Des Moines, retiring from the farm.
To this union was born one son, John Ira Walker. The deceased leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, son, daughter-in-law, grandchild, mother, two brothers and four sisters.
While living in this county Mr. Walker was one of the leading citizens. He enjoyed the confidence of the people of the community and served on the county board of supervisors for nine years.
He departed this life May 10, 1916 at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 14 days.
The remains were brought to Afton Saturday and taken to Greenlawn cemetery where a short funeral service was held, conducted by Rev. J. N. Strain, and interment was made there
