MILTON JOY MITCHENER, CRESTON BARBER, DIED HERE THIS MORNING

Milton Joy Mitchener, 36, barber and resident of Creston for the past 23 years, died in the Greater Community hospital this morning at 2:30 following an operation. He had been ill for the past two weeks.

Mr. Mitchener was born at Emerson, Jan. 31, 1902, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Mitchener and moved to Creston in 1916. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Grace Mitchener of Creston; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth Reed of Creston; and five aunts, Mrs. Patience Felger of Afton, Mrs. L. G. Hood of Des Moines, Mrs. Nellie Wilson of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. G. F. Swisher and Maude Blythe, both of Creston.

Funeral services will be held at the McGregor Bros. & Coens’ chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. C. H. Carlson. The body will be at the chapel until time of service. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
