ELIZA BEHRENDS, 82, DIES AT SHANNON

SHANNON CITY—Mrs. Eliza Behrends, 82, died at 6 a.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Duane Nealley, in Shannon City. She had made her home with her daughter for the past 15 years and they have lived in Shannon City for about 4 ½ years.

Mrs. Behrends had been ill for the past four years and an invalid for the past year.

Funeral arrangements are not complete but her body was taken Sunday at Ringstead, Ia., her former home, where services will be held at the Lutheran Church of which she was a member. Burial will be in the family lot in the Ringstead cemetery.

She was born Feb. 20, 1868, in Germany, and came to the United States in 1890, settling at Danforth, Ill. She and her husband later moved to Ringstead, Ia., where they engaged in farming. Her husband died in 1926.

Mrs. Behrends is survived by five daughters and three sons from a family of 10 children. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
