David Bethune Rites Thursday

AFTON-Funeral services for David A. Bethune 25, will be held at the Emmanuel Church, Northeast of Afton, at 2 P.M. Thursday. Rev. Patrick Fredde, pastor of the Lorimor Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Groesbeck cemetery. His body will be at the William Coen Funeral Home in Afton until taken to the church at 1 P.M. Thursday to lie in state before the services. The casket will not be opened after the services.

Mr. Bethune died in an Omaha , Neb., hospital shortly before midnight Monday night from stab wounds inflicted by a man who entered his room in an Omaha apartment early Monday. He suffered knife wounds in the chest, abdomen and legs.

David Allen Bethune was born March 24, 1935, on the family farm near Afton, to Ada Lenore (Groesbeck) and Davis Marion Bethune. He graduated from Afton High School in 1954. He was employed at the Western Electric Co., at Millard, near Omaha. He had moved to Omaha from Creston several months ago.

He is survived by his parents, a brother Irvin Bethune and many Uncles, Aunts, and cousins.
