FUNERAL TO BE HELD HERE FOR M. OWENS

Funeral services will take place Friday afternoon from the Fox chapel here for Merrill Owens, 34, who was fatally injured last Sunday when he was hit by a train near Auburn, Calif. He passed away on Monday morning. Details concerning the tragedy were not known.

He was born March 30, 1907, at Afton, Iowa. He came to Campbell County when a lad of nine years and and made this community his home the major portion of his life, where he had many friends that mourn his death. He was known familiarly as Bill Owens.

He is survived by a son, Billy, of northern Montana, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Owens of Afton, Ia., and a sister, Mrs. Bert Carter of Lead, S. Dak.. Mr. and Mrs. Owens arrived here yesterday afternoon.
