Kenneth K. Petznick, 87, 612 N. Pine Street, died February 10, 1999, at Greater Community Hospital. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. February 12 at Graceland Cemetery with military rites conducted by Theodore J. Martens VFW Post No. 1797. The Rev. Terry Amann will officiate the service. There is open visitation 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home, 809 W. Montgomery Street. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church or Children's Christian Home in Council Bluffs. Mr. Petznick was born April 16, 1911, in Union County to Bruno and Elsie (McKee) Petznick. He graduated from Creston High School in 1930. On February 14, 1934, he married Leona Kaster in Moravia. He owned and operated Petznick Printing from 1934 to 1970 and continued to work there until his retirement in 1992. He was a lifelong Union County resident.
He was a former trustee, president, elder, treasurer and Sunday School teacher at the First Presbyterian Church; past president, secretary for 31 years and had perfect attendance for 51 years with the Creston Kiwanis Club, received the Creston Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Award and was active with the Christmas Basket Fund. Survivors include his wife, Leona Petznick of Creston and a sister, the Rev. Erna Petznick of Springfield, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold and Harley Petznick.
