John Mounts, 87, passed away at 3:45 p.m. last Wednesday, May 1st, at the Huntington Nursing Home in Creston. He had been ill for several months.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church in Shannon City, with Rev. Merlin J. Wilkins, officiating, burial was in the Shannon City cemetery. The Wm. Coen Funeral Home was in charge of services.

Mr. Mounts was a longtime resident of the Shannon City community. He had lived in Union county practically all his life, where he was a farmer by profession until his retirement.

Surviving are his widow, Laura; two sons, Kenneth Mounts of Fremont, California, and Merrill Mounts of Newport, Oregon; a daughter Mrs. Helen Andrews of Hayward, California; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Kelley of Portland, oregon.
