Dr. Ray E. McFarland, 88, 1200 E. Seventh, died Wednesday (March 16, 1994) at Newton Medical Center. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 11, 1905, to Albert A. McFarland and Mary M. Berry McFarland.

He married Ermal F. Breckenridge on July 11, 1931, in Wheaton, Ill. She survives.

He was a retired osteopathic physician, coming to the Southwestern Osteopathic Hospital in Wichita in 1934 and was on the staff for 17 years. He was in private practice until his retirement in 1970. He lived in Florida for several years and moved to Presbyterian Manor, Newton, Kansas, in 1984.

He was a former member of the Rotary Club of Wichita, held a membership in all of the Masonic Orders, was a member of the Newton Lions Club and the First United Presbyterian Church.

The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas with the Newton Masonic Lodge #142 AF& AM officiating.

A memorial service will be set at a later date at the Newton Presbyterian Manor. Memorials may be sent to the First United Presbyterian Church in Newton in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
