Ruth Catherine Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Brown of Long Beach, Calif., was born April 25, 1899, at Shannon City, Iowa, departed this life January 2, 1933, at Lakeside hospital in Kansas City, Mo., at the age of 33 years, 8 months and 8 days.

She grew to womanhood in and near Shannon City, Iowa...She was united in marriage to Lewis Clyde Williams August 29, 1917, who preceded her in death July 29, 1925. To this union was born a daughter, Josephine Eileen, at their home near Afton. She later resided at Kansas City and was united in marriage to Joseph Wallo in July, 1930, residing there until her death.

She was a member of the Orient Chapter O.E.S. in Kansas City. She was a graduate of the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, and practiced her profession up to a few days before her passing. She was active in church and Sunday School work and will be missed by many.

She leaves besides her husband and daughter, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Brown; five brothers, Frank, Orren and Elijah Brown of Long Beach, Calif., Dr. Ira C Brown of Grinnell, Iowa; William H. Brown of Des Moines, Iowa. Six sisters: Winifred Snider, Zelphia Porter and Laura Mounts of Shannon City; Della Mason of North Platte, Nebr.; and Olive R. Gustin of Kansas City, Mo. One sister, Mabelle, preceded her in death May 13, 1896. A host of other relatives and friends mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held last Thursday at 10:00am at the M.E. church in Afton...and interment made in Greenlawn cemetery."
