Died at her home in Lorimor, Feb. 17th, Mrs. John Bragg, aged 74 years and 14 days. Martha J. Morrow was born Feb. 3rd, 1834, and with the family moved to the farm purchased that year by her father, a mile north of Afton. Miss Morrow employed her time teaching school and the district that secured her services was considered fortunate, until her marriage to John E. Bragg, which occurred April 7th, 1875. With her husband she removed to his farm on Grand river about five miles west of here where they lived until 1897, when they removed to Lorimor, where they lived until both have passed away. Mr. Bragg having passed away some eight years ago. No children came to their home but they adopted Miss Mary Singer, now Mrs. Harry Orr and raised her until womanhood as their own child. Of eight children Mrs. Bragg was the fourth to join their parents on that brighter shore. Those remaining are R. F. Morrow, of San Francisco; Mrs. D. W. Hawkins, of Olney, Ill.; S. C. Morrow, of Washington, Kans., and W. W. Morrow, the treasurer of the state of Iowa, Des Moines.

The funeral occurred from the late home at which her pastor, Rev. Palmer, of the M.E. church, delivered the address, and the body was placed beside that of her husband in the Lorimor cemetery.
