James Doke Berry, Laguna Beach, died yesterday in a local hospital. He was born in Burlington, Iowa, and lived most of his life in Union County, Iowa, before coming to Long Beach in 1922, and removing to Laguna several months ago.

Surviving are two sons, Harry E. Berry, South Laguna, and Walter A. Berry of Winterset, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Kinkle, San Gabriel, and Mrs. Mattie McFarland, Des Moines, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 10am in the chapel of Mottell's Mortuary. Rev. Royal H. Reisner of Belmont Heights Methodist Church will officiate. Emtombment will be in Angeles Abbey Mausoleum.

Post Note: James D. Berry was the son on James C. and Sarah (Craig) Berry. His wife was the late Ida Mae (Wilson) Berry, daughter of William R. Wilson. Deceased brothers: Elijah, Theodore, and Dr. William Berry. Deceased sister: Mrs. "Kate" Brown.
