Arthur R. Donner, 57, 707 N. Birch Street, died of cardiac arrest July 13, 1996, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. at the Keating-Lindsay-Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue. The Rev. Jack Comer, pastor of the Van Meter Baptist Church, will officiate the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Afton. There is open visitation after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials my be directed to the family.

Mr. Donner was born June 4, 1939, in Union county to Robert Leroy and Dora (Schrodt) Donner Jr. He graduated from Creston High School in 1957. On June 17, 1967, he married Karen L. Kinyon in Creston.

He worked at Creston Farm and Home, Creston Co-op, was caretaker of McKinley Park and had been employed at Heat Tech since 1988. He also owned and operated Art's Bike Shop from 1982-90. He was a lifelong resident of Union county. He was a former volunteer with the Creston Fire Department and formerly in the Federal Reserve.

Survivers include his wife, Karen Donner of Creston; a son Mick (wife Mary) Donner of Meridian, Miss.; three daughters, Marcie (husband Mike) Page of Lorimor, Lori (husband Curtis) Clark of Harrisonville, Mo., and Marla (husband Gerrit) Vrieze of Winterset; Mother-in-law, Evelyn Griswold; two brothers, Bob (wife Jana) Donner and Albert (wife June) Donner of Chariton; two sisters, Jannet (husband Bill) Fry of Chariton and Sharon Donner of Osceola; and 12 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two infant sons, Scott Ray and Ray Allen.
