EDWARD PEAK

Edward Clinton Peak, 71, retired hardware merchant and resident of Creston since 1890, died here at his home, 206 North Oak street, at 6:45 a. m. Sunday. He had been ill a week following a heart attack.

Mr. Peak spent his early life in Lenox and then lived on a farm south of Cromwell before coming to Creston. He was born in McDonald County, Ill., on Sept. 19, 1868, the son of John and Susan Peak. On Oct. 31, 1900 he was married in Creston to Agnes Dwyer who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Edward, and daughter, Katherine. A son, Joel, died Jan. 9, 1927. Mr. Peak was a member of the Roman Catholic church and the Elks Lodge.

Funeral services will be held at the Immaculate Conception church at 9 a.m. tomorow in charge of Msgr. Vitus Stoll. Pallbearers will be Frank Hagan, Arthur Glick, John Moran, Joe Shay, George Johnson and Lloyd Kinney and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The rosary will be at the home a 8 o'clock tonight.
