Yesterday morning occurred the death of Mrs. M.L. Homewood, at her home in
Afton. She has been ill some time. Funeral services will be held Saturday
at 1:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Guest preaching the sermon.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Laura Melissa Lamb was born to Benjamin and Olive Lamb, February 9, 1874
(sic), in Floyd County, Ind. She came with her parents to Pleasant Township
Union County, Iowa, in 1850, and resided there until 15 years ago when she
moved to Afton.When about 15 years of age, she united with the Christian Church, and was a
true Christian up to the time of her death.November 23, 1873 (sic) she was married to L.M. Homewood, who with her
daughter, Mrs. Lory Corbin, and three brothers and three sisters and two
grandchildren, survive to mourn their loss.The brothers and sisters are: T.J. Lamb of Pleasant Twp.; L.J. Lamb of New
Market; Josiah M. Lamb of Judasonia, Ark.; Mrs. Jane Stark of Nevada, Mo.;
Mrs. O.J. Scott of Scribner, Nebr.; and Mrs. Ellen A. Jackson of Red Cloud,
Nebr.She departed this life at 9:00 a.m., February 16, 1916, aged 69 years and 7
days.Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. C.B.
Guest, at the Presbyterian Church. Interment was made in Greenlawn.---------------------------------------

We sincerely thank all of our friends and neighbors and relatives for the
kindness shown us and the assistance given us during the sickness and death
of our dear wife and mother. Also we thank the ones who furnished the music
