EFFIE LOIS STEEN

LORIMOR - Effie Lois Steen, 80, of Lorimor, died Saturday at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset. She had been ill since March.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Watts-Lindsay Funeral Home in Lorimor. The Rev. Mark Hagy will officiate with burial in the Lorimor Cemetery.

Mrs. Steen was born on May 15, 1903, in Arispe to George and Elizabeth [Davis] Wilson. On October 26, 1921, she married Lester Steen in Afton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1980.

Mr. Steen was a homemaker and made her home in Arispe until 1919 when she moved to Lorimor. She was a member of the OES and the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lois [Dillard] Paxton of College Station, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Minerva Phillips of Geneva, Nebr.; one brother, Clyde Wilson of Waterloo; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, her parents, two sons and a grandson.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
