Thursday, May 13, 1999Millard E. "Andy" Anderson of Creston, passed away May 7, 1999, at his home. He was 78.
Mr. Anderson, the son of Joseph Custer and Golda (Strickland) Anderson, was born April 30, 1921 in Creston. He graduated from Creston HIgh School in 1939. He was united in marriage to Margaret Elizabeth Rine in Cedar Falls on August 8, 1943. He owned Anderson's Paint and Wallpaper, and served as postmaster in Creston and Waterloo. He lived in Cedar Falls and Creston. He was a member of the First Congregational United church of Christ, BPOE No. 605, a life-time member of VFW, a member and past grand master of Masonic Lodge No. 522 and a Shrine clown. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U. S. Army from 1942-46.
He is survived by his mother, Golda Anderson of Creston, a daughter, Trudy K. LaRosee of Omaha, Nebraska; a special friend, Betty Brown of Creston; and a grandchild.
Preceding him in death were: his father, wife and an infant son.
Private family services will be held with burial in Graceland Cemetery. The Coen-Beaty Funeral Home of Creston was in charge of arrangements.
