“Adams County Free Press” (Corning, Iowa). May 3, 1979 (Thursday). Page 2, Column 6 in the “Deaths” column:

“Elmer Kinkade, 95, of Creston passed away April 30 [Monday] at the Creston Manor Nursing Home where he had been living since 1976. Born at Cromwell [November 27, 1883], he had lived in the Cromwell community all of his life.

Survivors include his wife, the former Evelyn Harrison; four daughters, Mrs. LeRoy Francis of Creston, Mrs. Ariel Fishel of Dayton, Ohio; four sons, Harry and Franklin Kinkade of Creston, Clyde Kinkade of West Des Moines and Lloyd Kinkade of Dayton, Ohio.

Funeral services were held at the Cormwell Congregational United Church of Christ May 2 [Tuesday] at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Kenneth Reiter officiating. Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery [aka Cromwell Cemetery] at Cromwell.” END
