April 13, 1927 (Wednesday). Page 4, Column 1:"Senator Charles H. Thomas, for the past three years postmaster of Creston, died at his home in that city on Sunday of this week [April 10, 1927]. The gentleman was well known by many Corning people. He was a member of the state board of education. Mr. Thomas served two terms in the state legislature. He was a fine man, public spirited and a leader in good things for his home community.” END

April 20, 1927 (Wednesday). Page 4, Column 3 in the “Cromwell” Column:“Chas. H. Thomas, postmaster of Creston, died at his home Sunday, April 10th, from heart trouble and complications. Mr. Thomas was for many years a resident of this place [Cromwell] and leaves many friends and acquaintances in this vicinity who extend their sympathy to the bereaved family. The funeral services will be Wednesday [April 13], at the M. E. church, in Creston, and interment will be made in Cromwell cemetery.” END
