LYNN PARROTT

Lynn Parrott, 93, of Altoona, formerly of Creston and Afton, died May 6, 2008, at Kavanaugh House in Des Moines.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 10, at Pearson-Coen-Beaty Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston, Iowa. The Rev. Dwayne Henrichs of Thayer will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Afton. visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Lynn Parrott, son of Maude Nettie [Zager] and Albert LeRoy Parrott, was born June 9, 1914, north of Afton in Union County. He was a farmer and mechanic.

On May 30, 1936, he married Pauline Young in Creston.

Lynn lived on and worked the family farm near Dodge Center most of his life. Following retirement, he lived in Afton, Creston and Adel. He was a member of Union County Sheriff's posse and Union County Historical Society.

Surviviors include his wife, Pauline Parrott of Afton, John [wife Tink] Parrott of Solon and Gary [wife Lana] Parrott of Altoona; daughter Glenda K. Andreini of Des Moines; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, LeRoy, Earl and Ivan Parrott and grandson Brian Sale.
