August 10, 1893James P. Glynn, the young man who has suffered so long with throat trouble, died at the home of his parents in Thayer on Monday, aged 23 years, 7 months and 27 days. The funeral was held in Afton yesterday at St. Edward’s church, Rev. Father Bede officiating. The remains were buried in the cemetery west of this city. Mr. Glynn had lived in Union county nearly all his life. He was a highly respected young man and leaves many friends who testified their deep regard for him during his long illness. The bereaved relatives are remembered in their grief, which should be softened by the knowledge that he whom they loved was prepared to go, he gave them a noble example of a Christian young man’s renouncing the things of life and calmly facing eternity.
